sis, it’s time for some extensions: debunking the myths

myth #1

“I can’t wear hair extensions,They look fake af ”

WRONG OMG STOP,  The Uncropped Extensions are 100% Russian remy hair. This means it is the finest quality of human hair.

FRIDA FACT - the cuticle, which is the outermost layer of the hair, is kept intact, so the hair itself looks more luscious and natural.

This being paired with your Frida stylist, who specializes in custom colouring, means your extensions will ALWAYS blend. So no fear, babe, you’re set with us.

myth #2

“ you can’t use heat on your extensions”

Girl, chill.

As long as you’re using heat protection, you’re fine.

My fav is the blockade from Amika. It’s an oil & protection in one product. The wizard from Amika is another favourite of mine. It’s perfect because it’s also a detangler. Can we get any more perfect than that?! Ps: everytime you’re using a hot tool YOU NEED heat protection!

Gotta BLOWDRY? Use protection

Straightener? Use protection!

Curling iron? Protect the hair girl

myth #3

“ Extensions are so bad they make your hair fall out”

Here we go, buckle up.

Ok extensions do not make your hair fall out.

HOWEVER, if the installation is not done correctly and safely, they can cause damage!

That’s why it is SO IMPORTANT to do your homework and find a stylist who gets you!

As a long-time extension wearer, I’ve experienced the good, the bad and the absolutely unblended so take it from me. I know horror stories.

From clip-ins, tapes, keratin tips, braided weaves & braidless weaves, I’ve tried it all, so you don’t have to, and hun, it wasn’t cute.

BY FAR, the only method I’ve come across that has the least long-term damage (depending on the hair type) is the braidless weave. I’ve experienced more hair growth with this method than any other one & so have my clients (praise the lord). That’s why we use this method at Frida!

Ask us all the questions it’s our fav thing to talk about.
