pre - wedding treatment plan

Prior to the big day, it is so important to give yourself adequate time for satisfactory results and to ensure you are feeling flawless on your special day! The type of treatment, the area of treatment, and treatment history all play a role in the plan of action in regards to your wedding treatment checklist. Below we will discuss neuromodulators (Dysport/Botox), Dermal filler and Sculptra and how to go about each service prior to your wedding!

NEUROMODULATORS (Dysport/Botox)

If it is your first time receiving neuromodulators and you are wanting to trial multiple areas - I highly recommend booking your first treatment as soon as possible and giving yourself as much time as you can. Ideally - It would be best to allow yourself at one to two treatments prior to your wedding toxin appointment. Meaning if you allowed yourself 6-12 months prior to your wedding - there would be sufficient time to trial and correct dosing, areas, etc.

For example your wedding is July 21st, 2025

Treatment #1 October 7th, 2024

Two week follow up around October 21st to tweak dosing if need be!

Treatment #2 sometime between January and February (3-4 months post original appointment)

Review the first treatment with your provider. Discuss dosing, areas treated and confirm areas of concern. We would likely add in your “touchup” with this appointment to ‘perfect’ dosing from your first appointment!

Treatment #3 Pre Wedding botox should be booked AT LEAST 4 weeks before the wedding. This will give us time to provide our tried and true treatment plan, and still have time for a two week follow up to perfect things if needed. Then 2 additional weeks for recovery, should there be any bruising.

If you are not new to neuromodulators, and have worked out a treatment plan with a provider you know and trust, there is a bit more flexibility! It would still be recommended to give yourself at least 4-6 weeks prior to your big day! This allows time for a two week follow up, as well as 2 week recovery post injection should you have any bruising.

dermal filler timeline

Similar to neuromodulators, adequate time prior to the wedding is essential. Filler is so unique to the client, so it is difficult to determine the time frame most adequate pre wedding. A client filling their lips for the first time may have different goals and expectations than the client who had previously received dermal filler in their lips and is looking for a refresh prior to the wedding.

For the first time client:  6-12 months is ideal but not always necessary

Firstly, a thorough consultation with your provider will be key. The more time you can give yourself the better. This allows time to sit down and thoroughly discuss what your cosmetic goals are, and come up with a realistic plan. After all, and as they do say, Rome was not built in a day!

Popular areas for filler pre wedding:

Lip filler: 4 weeks (minimum) up to 12 months depending on clients volume goal.

Cheek filler: 6 weeks up to 3 months

Chin: 4 weeks (minimum) up to 6 months depending on clients goal.

Nasolabial folds/marionettes:  4 weeks (minimum) up to 3 months depending on clients goal.

Jaw:  4 weeks (minimum) up to 3 months depending on clients goal.

Pre jowl Sulcus: 4 weeks (minimum) up to 3 months depending on clients goal.

Tear trough: 2-3 months minimum

In summary, time is your friend when it comes to dermal filler. A minimum of 4-6 weeks is usually enough time depending on the clients specific goals for natural enhancements and minimal volume replacement. Know that building volume and contour does often take more than one session, so if you are looking to make significant changes prior to a specific event - it can take several months or years to achieve.

sculptra timeline

Sculptra is a biostimulator, meaning it stimulates a cellular response to promote collagen production and dermal thickening. Sculptra is a fabulous option for restoring facial volume but the results can take several months to take effect, and some continue to see results up to 12 months. Multiple vials and sessions may be required depending on extent of volume loss and client goal.

This treatment is not always as immediately gratifying and you may not see results as quickly as dermal filler, but long term is very beneficial.

If you are wanting to go the Sculptra route and have meaningful results prior to the wedding, I would recommend giving yourself at least 6 months up to a year prior to your wedding date.

extra TIPS for injectables pre wedding

  • Try to find an injector you connect with and feel comfortable expressing all your questions, concerns and goals with!

  • Try to stick with the same provider once you find someone you receive results youre happy with! Every provider has a different technique and creative quirks - so it will be easier to execute a similar treatment with the same provider for your special day.

  • Bruising can happen! Follow your before and after care diligently to mitigate this to the best of your own ability, and give yourself time prior to your big day so you don’t have to walk down the aisle with a black eye!

  • Be realistic in what you are looking to achieve prior to your wedding with the amount of time we have to work with.

  • You will be a stunning bride no matter what, so always remember to be kind to yourself <3
